Services

We offer many quilting services at Quilters Cottage.  We longarm quilt and hand bind, make t-shirt and custom quilts, and will AccuCut fabrics so you can get right to the sewing. 

 

Our experienced longarm quilters can provide the perfect finale to the labor and love you put into your quilt top.  Browse through our patterns to find just the right one to compliment your fabrics and pattern.  We have many florals and feathers, geometrics and novelties to choose from.  To calculate the labor cost to quilt your top, multiply the length by the width of your quilt and divide by 144.  That will give you the square footage of your top.  Our beginning fee per square foot is $2.75 and will go up to $3.50 per square foot for custom work.  Batting is an additional fee and is charged per linear yard.   You may choose to bind your quilt yourself, or we can hand bind it for you at a cost of 20 cents per linear inch. Our completion times will vary with demand, but generally we run 4 to 8 weeks.  It is important to remember that the pieced back for your quilt should be 8 inches longer and 8 inches wider than your top to allow for it to be properly stretched on the machine.

 

 T-shirt quilts are quite popular commemorating High School and College alumni, sports teams, athletics, and memorials to loved ones.  Our staff can help you choose the perfect fabric to enhance your collection of shirts creating a wonderful memory quilt to keep or pass on.  Cost will vary, so please call the shop at 281-633-9331 to make an appointment for a quote.   We are glad to assist you in any way we can with your special project.  

 

Love to sew but are not fond of the cutting?  We can help.  Our AccuCut machine can make short work of all the cutting chores.  Our collection of dies include the popular Double Wedding Ring, Winding Ways, Turning Twenty, Take 5, Grandmothers Flower Garden (Hexagons), Dresden Plate and Apple Core.  Cutting fees will vary depending on the size of the quilt to be cut and the number of pieces.  Many of these quilts are also offered as classes.
